Sharon did a 3 year apprenticeship with a salon, attending college 1 day a week and gained a City and Guilds in hairdressing. She worked in the same salon for 10 years before moving on to another where she stayed for 2 years.

Sharon decided to go Freelance when this salon was knocked down to make way for a shopping center! The salon was part of a chain and she was offered a job in another branch, but it would have meant a long journey every day and her clients that did not want to travel that far wanted her to do their hair at home or on her day off. It was then that she thought it was the perfect time to start her own business. She has now been freelance for 15 years.

Sharon had done a wedding now and then and loved putting hair up and creating different looks, but it wasn't untill a client of hers decided to become a makeup artist about 10 years ago and wanted her to teach her to do bridal hair that she thought about advertising to do more bridal hair. She had never needed to advertise her regular hairdressing as it was all by recommendation.

As she started to get more bridal work, she found it remotivated her in all aspects of her hairdressing. She still has the passion for hair that she had when she started in the industry.

Sharon also styles models hair for fashion shows and photo shoots. She says: "I love that, I can be a bit more creative and wacky!"

Sharon is member of the freelance hair and beauty federation and fully insured. She attends all the london hair exhibitons and shows and was a finalist in the Wrapit Wedding Industry Award 2007 as voted by brides.
